About Me: I’m John “NEO” Schmidt. I’ve been a Jeeper on and off since 1992. I’m married to my Soulmate, Heather. We’ve been together since 2007 and have two beautiful children: Mackenzie and Johnny. We Live in PA, and primarily wheel Rausch Creek Off-Road Park, Famous Reading Outdoors, and few at AOAA as well.
Suicide has hit me hard. Founders Shawn and Nicole Cicero are close friends of mine, more like family. Bob was a close friend of mine as well, and the reason Jeeps Against Suicide was started. It is so important to me, to be a part of breaking the stigma, bringing mental health Awareness, and Suicide Awareness.
I have Battled Depression My entire life. I have had several attempts at taking my own life, as recent as 2018, 2019, and 2020, when I went through the darkest, deepest depression I’ve ever gone through. It was a very bad time in my life. The only thing that brought me through it, was God. I firmly believe God sent the right people at the right time.
It is my mission to make sure I’m there for people. It is my mission to make sure the stigma is diminished. It is my mission to make sure people know the resources available. I appreciate being a part of this incredible team and hope to meet you at one of our events.
